Mphela has the appetite

SCORING goals without conceding is one of the immediate challenges facing Bafana Bafana in their turnaround strategy to prepare for the 2010 World Cup finals.

SCORING goals without conceding is one of the immediate challenges facing Bafana Bafana in their turnaround strategy to prepare for the 2010 World Cup finals.

This is according to Bafana Bafana's ace striker Katlego Mphela, who is hoping that they develop a renewed appetite for goals starting with the must-win match against Norway in Oslo tomorrow.

Kickoff is at 3.30pm.

"We have been doing well lately, but the problem is up front. We need to start scoring goals starting with Norway, scoring will help us win matches," Mphela said.

"Consistency is also important, so we have to make a habit of scoring goals in every game and also shut the back door to avoid conceding."

Mphela's sentiments were echoed by captain Aaron Mokoena at a media conference in Oslo yesterday where he said they were out to make it two in a row against Norway. This was after Bafana defeated Norway 2-1 in Phokeng in April.
