COPE and the DA have pulled out of ongoing parliamentary hearings to determine the future of labour brokers in South Africa.

COPE and the DA have pulled out of ongoing parliamentary hearings to determine the future of labour brokers in South Africa.

They cited the disruptive behaviour of Cosatu members during these hearings as the reason for withdrawing, adding that the ANC and the labour federation seemed to have pre-empted the outcome.

"The disruption of the public hearings on labour brokers in Germiston is a mutilation of the dignity of Parliament and cannot be tolerated. These hearings are in fact nothing but a charade, with the ANC and Cosatu making a farcical pretence at discussing an issue on which they have in fact made up their minds already," the parties said.
