WAKING up early is considered torture by many people. But since Kgomotsto Taje took over the weekend breakfast slot on Yfm, thousands of people have been changing their sleeping habits.

WAKING up early is considered torture by many people. But since Kgomotsto Taje took over the weekend breakfast slot on Yfm, thousands of people have been changing their sleeping habits.

Known to loyal listeners as as Motso, her show, The Morning Addiction, is exactly where she wants to be.

While studying for a BA degree in Corporate Communications at Wits she became involved in campus radio and was accepted to take part in the coveted Yfm internship programme.

"It was fun and frustrating. Some people didn't know if they wanted to be news readers or producers or something else. I was set on being the host of a show.

Working on radio Motso is less under pressure about her image than TV presenters.

"I do what I feel like doing to my hair. I've had natural hair for two months now. I had hair that I braided and dyed before," she says.

Today she tests hair care products that promise to leave her hair moisturised and stronger.

First to be tried is Optimum Care Moisture Replenish. "This one feels light, with sufficient moisture. I like it that it doesn't have a thick texture."

Motso then moves on to Soft n Free, Hydrating Hairfood. "This one smells quite nice. It has a fresh and slightly sweet scent."

She has high expectations for the third product, Caivil's Mend and Gro. "Caivil products are usually quite nice and this one is too. It has a nice colour and smell. It also doesn't feel too heavy, which is good because then it won't make the hair too oily."

JO'M Hair Moisturizer is next to be tried. "It's the first time I see this one. It has the best scent of them all - I like the cinnamon scent. It's also not too heavy and oily. I like it tingling on my scalp."

Last to be tried is Organic Olive Oil. "This one is probably good for the hair because they say olive oil is so healthy.

Then, after a long wait, Motso declares JO'M Hair Moisturizer her favourite! - Keitumetse Segoai
