THE wait is finally over for South African fans of R&B singer Babyface. He is heading this way for a series of concerts in December.

Born Kenny Edmonds the American will perform at the Heartfelt Arena, Tshwane, on December 5, Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town, on December 7, International Convention Centre, Durban, on December 9 and Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg on December 11.

The R&B singer, songwriter, producer and entrepreneur is especially respected for his song Every time I close my Eyes, which defined him as a formidable creator of love lyrics that female fans, especially, embrace.

"I am extremely excited about my visit to South Africa." Babyface says.

"It is very humbling for me to know that I will be performing in a country where my music is highly appreciated,"

Babyface visited South Africa briefly last year as a guest at the official opening of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.

"My visit last year was for a good cause but it was much too brief." he says.

"I knew that I had to come back."

The event will be hosted by Afropulse Entertainments, the Klerksdorp-based music promotions company that is best remembered for the April 2009 Legends of Soul Tour.

Tickets for all the gigs are between R250 and R550.
