THE City of Johannesburg is to organise public meetings - for residents to raise any concerns over service delivery - before the end of the month.
It is also calling on residents to participate in public programmes.
In a bid to identify key issues to prioritise for the next financial year, the council wants ratepayers to attend the meetings at venues and dates still to be decided.
In the past the focus of ward plans has been on costly capital projects.
Previous comments and suggestion received from the communities in Johannesburg indicated that there should be a shift to the more pressing and visible service delivery issues which affect daily lives.

lEkurhuleni wants all its residents who feel they qualify for its indigent programme to come forward.
"In November 2008, before an extensive verification process took place, there were approximately 52000 beneficiaries listed on the database.
When the process was finalised in June this year, the number dropped to 38727," said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini yesterday.
