MAJIMBOS, who have already arrived in Limpopo for Sunday's match against Zimbabwe, have been invited to a tournament in Ivory Coast in December.

MAJIMBOS, who have already arrived in Limpopo for Sunday's match against Zimbabwe, have been invited to a tournament in Ivory Coast in December.

"It is a four-nations tournament. Our manager (Abram Ndawonde) is still busy with negotiations with the organisers," said Solly Luvhengo, coach of the national Under-17 side.

Sunday's game will form part of the celebrations by First National Bank and the South African Football Association of the launch of a new artificial pitch facility in Makwarela, the birthplace of First Division side Black Leopards.

"We are pleased to play in Makwarela, a township which has a rich history when it comes to soccer. The support for soccer here is great," said Luvhengo.

"After the game against Zimbabwe we will take a break until December to allow the youngsters to prepare for their final examinations."

Luvhengo has roped in two new players, Stanton Weir of Ajax Cape Town and Katleho Molaba of Ekurhuleni Academy, for Sunday's game. Majimbos are out to redeem their tarnished image after a 3-2 loss to Namibia in Windhoek last Sunday.

"We have done pretty well since April, losing only one match out of 11," Luvhengo said.
