"The opening of the Mpumalanga branch of Media Works is in response to the growing need for Adult Basic Education and Training, an active agent in reducing the national skills shortage," said manager Vusi Mkhonza.
Using two broad approaches - face-to-face classes guided by a facilitator and computer-assisted learning that incorporates multi-media programmes with workbooks and facilitator sessions, Media Works boasts a pass rate of more than 90percent over the past 14 years.
Mkhonza said: "The provincial government is already making strides in the provision of Abet. Though the pool of qualified Abet trainers continues to be a challenge. A component of our service offering is train-the-trainer training designed to empower suitable candidates to become qualified, accredited Abet facilitators." - Sapa
