THE Democratic Alliance in the Lepelle-Nkumpi municipality in Limpopo has urged the mayor to suspend an ANCcouncillor who had allegedly hired hitmen to murder her estranged boyfriend.

Patricia Mphahlele, a councillor at Mamaolo village near Lebowakgomo, was granted bail of R10000 when she appeared in the Thabamoopo magistrate's court on Wednesday.

She was arrested on September 6 for her alleged role in the murder of her estranged boyfriend Manale Motebejane.

Motebejane was found murdered at his home in Mamaolo on August 16.

Four men were subsequently arrested and charged with his murder.

But the men implicated Mphahlele, saying she had hired them to murder Motebejane.
