Of the tickets sold across the globe, 7863 are for wheelchair-bound people. This resulted in the LOC roping in a South African Disabled Alliance consultant for the nationwide inspection tour of World Cup match venues. This was the first time the alliance has been represented in a Cup inspection tour.
They were part of the inspection team of 50 people that focused on competition, media, broadcasting, medical, volunteers, hospitality, marketing and security.
Speaking at the same briefing at Safa House, the head of Fifa's South African mission, Ron DelMont, said the governing body was happy with the support from all the host cities.
"This inspection gave us (Fifa) a high confidence level. We can now clearly identify where the buses will drop off the teams.
"There will also be a marketing inspection next week," said DelMont, adding that they will meet today for a postmortem of the Confederations Cup.
He said they were happy that the training venues were also being prepared in line with Fifa requirements.
LOC chief executive Danny Jordaan also commended the host cities for ensuring that world-class stadiums were built.
"This tour has provided ample evidence that we will be ready. Now the work of the organising committee and Fifa begins in earnest."
LOC chief competitions officer Derek Blackensee said they had entered into an agreement with the rugby federation that the matches will finish early next year.
"The problem with the Confederations Cup was that we also had the British Lions tour."
