WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko successfully defended his world title against previously undefeated number one contender Cristobal Arreola via a 10th round TKO on Saturday night at the Staples Arena in Los Angeles, US.

Klitschko, 38, was able to score effectively at a distance against the aggressive Arreola, who made him work very hard.

Arreola could however never find a tactic that worked, taking a beating in every round. The fight got more one-sided as the rounds progressed and referee Jon Schorle finally stopped the punishment at the end of round 10 upon the request of Arreola's corner.
