Clouds gathered and the storm was imminent on Thursday as Nickolas Modibeng looked set to stop the tsunami.

Clouds gathered and the storm was imminent on Thursday as Nickolas Modibeng looked set to stop the tsunami.

But with the appearance of the rainbow, Wembley Arena heaved a sigh of relief.

Modibeng gave in to overconfidence, even though he had not yet cleared the line.

It probably dawned on him, too late as he lay sprawled on the canvas that Sipho "Tsunami" Taliwe has super natural powers.

This captures the third-round end to the lightweight six-rounder.

Modibeng had it in the bag after felling Taliwe twice in the first round. He then got careless and paid for it.

Taliwe, who hails from Butterworth, perfects his fighting skills in Westbury under trainers Benny Pailman, Peter Faver and Cliff Martins and will, on November 6, challenge SA junior lightweight champion Jasper Seroka.

His fight last Thursday was part of the Seconds Out Promotions' bill that promoter Andre Kerr dubbed "Introduction" because it was Kerr's maiden tourney.

Some 500 fight fans were not disappointed. No blood was spilled but clean knockouts were recorded.

Nkululeko "Bulldog" Mhlongo, Marcel "Light Out" Japhta, stable mates at Westside Boxing Academy in Westbury, needed less a minute to dispose off Alvin Mahonisi and Victor Kota in the second and first rounds, respectively.

Meanwhile Boxing SA must save Sean Santana from complete destruction. Santana was badly knocked out of the ring by Johnny Muller in the first round of their heavyweight fight.

That was Muller's fourth stoppage in as many fights while Santana, who hasn't been okay since being poleaxed in the first round by Patrick Madzinga in 2007, suffered his fifth defeat (all by KO) against four wins.

Other results: Junior featherweight 6 rounds: Koos Sibiya and Themba Lesina draw; Lightweight 6 rds: Stephen Ntshingila beat Kyle Bothma on points; Raymond Bloom beat Tholakelo Mxonywa ko 1.
