KAIZER Chiefs have regained their winning ways, for now.

Chiefs defeated Jomo Cosmos 2-1 at Rand Stadium yesterday thanks to Cosmos former players Nkosinathi Nhleko and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

Chiefs had been desperate for a win after losing to Bloemfontein Celtic last week.

Yesterday, Chiefs led as early as the third minute when burly striker Nhleko, otherwise known as "Chippa", was given time and space to turn before blasting home the opener.

AmaKhosi came close again in the 13th minute but Kaizer Motaung Jnr's shot went wide. He had been fed by Jimmy Jambo on the left.

But Chiefs were not going to be denied as Letsholonyane netted the second from close range in the 19th minute after a beautiful inter change of passes between Motaung to Nhleko.

Letsholonyane, who had jonly recenly recovered from a long injury, suffered another and had to be taken off.

Cosmos, the hosts, pulled one back when Thapelo Tshilo headed in from a corner kick.

Ezenkosi were unlucky not to level matters in the 70th minute as Tshilo's' shot shaved the woodwork.

Chiefs held on for their second win while Cosmos suffered their second successive home defeat.

l Clifford Mulenga grabbed a brace to steer Mpumalanga Black Aces to a well deserved 2-0 win over at Ackerville Stadium in Witbank.

l Bloemfontein Celtic are still unbeaten after to a goalless draw with Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium.

For the record Celtic, Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits are the only three sides that are still to taste defeat since this season started.
