Transport bosses should meet the masses

WHILE security on trains (and buses) is definitely an issue, I am astonished at the service providers' lack of insight into how their treatment of their assets affects commuters' attitudes towards them.

If the facilities were properly and regularly cleaned, passengers would be less likely to abuse them . The vehicles' interiors are usually absolutely filthy . Keeping them in good condition would also show transporters' genuine respect for us .

Corporate executives should leave their ivory towers regularly and experience the abuse they expose their customers to . This would result in better services, which would make us feel that they care about us.
