AS A country South Africa has come a long way as far as international participation and recognition in sports is concerned.

AS A country South Africa has come a long way as far as international participation and recognition in sports is concerned.

We cannot, after all this, lie and be dishonest in our dealings and about our credentials as a country and athletes in various sporting codes.

We South Africans are proud of our brave and talented athletes. That is why we cannot allow administrators of whatever sporting code to ridicule the country and what we stand for and have achieved so far.

The self-interest of individual sports administrators should not be allowed, not at the expense of our beautiful sporting country or our capable athletes.

What Leonard Chuene, the so-called president of ASA, has done to the country and specifically to Caster Semenya is a total disgrace. It cannot be tolerated or forgiven.

Chuene took the citizens for a ride. For the first time I am going to swim in the same pool as the opposition and join them in making it clear that Chuene must go immediately.

With the Fifa 2010 World Cup on our doorstep we cannot afford to tell lies about and be dishonest in our handling of such serious and critical matters.

This is the time to show our true sportsmanship and maturity in the same way as when we dealt with our democracy when certain countries in the world doubted us.

We are a respected country and one that boasts a wealth of sporting talent.

So we should not allow Chuene to disgrace South Africans in the way that he has.

The man should be axed NOW!
