ANC is all about politics

Speaking against the recent strike by some members of the South African National Defence Force, Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs Lindiwe Sisulu said unionisation of soldiers was by its very nature political.

She said bringing politics into the army was problematic. I am not sure about unionisation of the army per se, but on its politicisation she has a valid point. But then, Sisulu's appointment is itself political. In fact, the appointment of the entire cabinet is political.

All cabinet ministers are members of the ANC and its alliance partners, except Pieter Mulder, whose appointment was also political in that it was meant to mollify his molly-coddled white community.

Furthermore, the leadership of key and strategic organs such as the NIA, SAPS, SANDF, Secret Services and NPA, are stacked with ANC members. The judiciary is also being stacked with ANC members and, or members sympathetic to it. So the ANC government is all about politics.

The ANC should cut the politicisation of the civil service and not talk about it only when it suits them.
