Spokesperson Lungile Lose said the stamps would be available at all post offices countrywide tomorrow.
Mapungubwe Hill, which means "hill of the jackal", is an Iron Age archaeological site in Limpopo.
In July 2003, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) declared the Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape South Africa's fifth World Heritage site.
It was also declared a national park by the national park housing it in May 2004
The stamps cost R5,40 each and are the correct postage for an international small letter up to 50g.
"Tourists and South Africans alike can now use images of an immensely important cultural discovery to postmark their letters to the rest of the world," Lose said.
