A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with two robberies at Libode in Eastern Cape.

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with two robberies at Libode in Eastern Cape.

In the first incident at 6.30pm on Sunday, a 21-year-old Somali was shot during a robbery at his shop at Gxulu in Libode, Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said yesterday.

The robbers are believed to have stolen R1500. The shopowner was taken to hospital.

A second robbery occurred at nearby Elucweli when three men robbed a business at 9pm. The men took R5000. Police arrested a 25-year-old man at the scene and he was found in possession of some of the cash and a gun. - Sapa
