BLUE Bulls' tighthead prop Werner Kruger and their Springbok centre Wynand Olivier were injured against the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington last weekend, but both should be available for this weekend match.

Their team face Free State Cheetahs in a crucial Currie Cup match at Loftus on Saturday.

There is, however, concern about the availability of scrumhalf Fourie du Preez.

Team doctor Org Strauss said Du Preez's chances were 50/50 and that a final call will only be made later in this week.

Kruger left the field on Saturday because of a rib injury and Olivier struggled with an ankle, but Strauss is optimistic that both will recover in time for the Cheetahs clash.

Olivier's Springbok teammate, Bakkies Botha, will definitely not be fit to play against the Cheetahs. He has a knee problem. Bryan Habana is currently on his honeymoon and is therefore also not available. But there is a slight chance that Du Preez might be eligible. The rest of the Bulls who toured with the Springboks in Australasia were expected to join up with the squad yesterday. - Sapa
