JOMO Cosmos' unbeaten run at home has inspired them going into a potentially tough Absa Premiership match against reigning champions SuperSport United today.

And Ezenkosi are keen to win this 7.30pm encounter, the only league match today, to climb up the league table.

"It will be a tough match because United are a very good side but we will give it our best shot," said Cosmos assistant coach Gerald Mtshali yesterday.

While United are fourth on the Premiership log, Cosmos are third from bottom of the table.

United are still on a high after a 4-2 win over Moroka Swallows last Wednesday night, while Cosmos played to a 1-1 draw against Santos on the same day.

"The plan is to maintain our unbeaten run in the league on home soil.

"It will also be part of our campaign to move out of the relegation zone for good," Mtshali said.

"We've been playing well but the problem has been our failure to convert our chances into goals. If you saw our last game against Santos, you would have seen a great deal of improvement."

In their opening three league matches, Cosmos beat Black Aces 2-1 and fought out two goalless draws against Free State Stars and Platinum Stars.

United publicist David "Mazolman" Skosana said they wanted to win to strengthen their title hopes.

"We have a lot of respect for Mjomana (Cosmos owner-coach Jomo Sono) in terms of what he has achieved in the game, but it is unfortunate that will be temporarily suspended when we meet his side," said Skosana yesterday.

"When it comes to getting maximum points, we won't compromise."
