WBO All Africa junior bantamweight champion Muvhuso Nedzanani is out of danger after moving out of an intensive care unit of a Johannesburg hospital.

Nedzanani was involved in a car accident, allegedly in Mpumalanga, last week.

His trainer Gert Strydom, who visited the boxer at the hospital last week, said: "He had small facial cuts and his brother told me that the brain scan showed he was fine."

Nedzanani's promoter Branco Milenkovic revealed that his charge has already been approved by the IBF to fight for its junior bantamweight number one spot. The winner was to challenge newly crowned champion Simphiwe Nongqayi. But that fight is definitely off, said Milenkovic, "because he suffered a broken rib and will take long to heal".
