MAMELODI Sundowns coach Hristo Stoichkov was reportedly back at training at Chloorkop yesterday, a day after being threatened by angry fans after Downs' 4-2 loss to Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg.

Downs spokesperson Alex Shakoane said yesterday that the situation was never life-threatening for Stoichkov, who was stunned by the experience. But based on the club's turnover of coaches, questions abound on how long Stoichkov will last in the Brazilians' camp.

He is the latest in a long string of coaches - the last being Frenchman Henri Michel - axed by club owner Patrice Motsepe.

Shakoane said the club did not encourage such behaviour: "I want the supporters to learn to give the coaching staff, players and management a chance to work. We will never grow as a team if we keep changing coaches every month." Stoichkov was escorted off the pitch in a police vehicle.
