ZIMBABWE'S President Robert Mugabe has urged foreign mining companies to invest in the country and sought to allay fears that they could be expropriated.

Mugabe told a mining conference in Harare that the government would soon pass a new law to govern the sector.

Under the previously proposed bill, foreign companies could not hold more than 49percent of a business. - Reuters
