Mayor to represent SA in Jamaica

MUSINA local municipality mayor Caroline Mahasela and municipal manager Abraham Luruli will represent South Africa at a week-long heritage exchange programme in Kingston, Jamaica.

Both officials will make apresentation on Maphungubwe as a world heritage site and other heritage destinations in Limpopo. The programme is dubbed the Inter-City Intangible Cultural Cooperation Network and is held annually.

The theme for this year's conference is "Local government at the forefront of preserving our intangible cultural heritage".

The conference started on Tuesday and will end today.

The objectives of the conference are to provide the participants with a forum to share information and experiences through inter-governmental and inter-cultural dialogues.
