CELIWE Mbokazi told her husband Franz Richter that she was pregnant with another man's child before he was murdered.

This was revealed by Mbokazi's friend, Amanda Mzolo, who testified in the South Gauteng high court that Mbokazi had confided in her a few days after her husband Richter, 80, was murdered.

Mzolo said the pregnancy was not the only secret Mbokazi had shared with her. She also told her that she knew she would be arrested for Richter's murder.

"She said she knew she was going to be arrested and be a suspect but I did not make anything of it because I would never suspect her to be involved in the killing," said Mzolo.

But defence counsel advocate Dumisani Mkhwanazi said his client would deny ever having the conversation with Mzolo about the arrest or the pregnancy.

Mbokazi is accused of conspiring with co-accused Ronnie Khumalo - with whom she had an affair and is the father of her two-year-old child - in hiring Johnson Chirwa, Gilbert Mosadi, Vincent Dlamini and Dumisani Xulu to kill her husband.

Richter, the founder and owner of Heia Safari Ranch in Muldersdrift, was shot twice while entering the gate of his property. The alleged killers robbed him of R26000. They were arrested the same day.
