WE WERE at Emperors Palace to check out the Night of the Gladiators, which was a glam night with the stars and a very entertaining fight card.

The evening started with a delicious dinner.

We spotted Carol Manana being cosy with the rather anonymous rapper Young Nation.

Also spotted Dingaan Thobela with his beautiful wife and kids enjoying a family night out.

The always stunning Gerry Rantseli-Elsdon was there with her happy hubby.

Talking about happiness, one guy who definitely wasn't was ex-Ajax and Kaizer Chiefs defender Nhlanhla Kubheka, who looked very distant. Maybe he came to the event to improve his boxing skills for the next time he sees his former coach, Muhsin Ertugal.

Elana Africa was present with her magician boyfriend, as usual.

After the extravagant meal we went to the boxing arena.

The venue was packed and once the fight started the atmosphere became explosive.

The main event was between the charismatic Zolani "The Untouchable" Marali and South Korea's Ji Hoon Kim.

The match was introduced by the rather chubby looking Ricky Hatton. One has to say it looks as if life is definitely good for him.

Zolani was definitely the crowd's favourite for the night and had the crowd hyped up as he dominated the early rounds. But the always aggressive Ji Hoon Kim was in no mood to leave South Africa empty-handed.

In the 10th round the unthinkable happened when Zolani was knocked out by Ji.
