The meeting was initially scheduled for yesterday but was postponed to today after assistant coach Pitso Mosimane failed to attend because of a personal commitment.
Bafana's other assistant coach, Jairo Leal, will also be part of the meeting today, as will team manager Sipho Nkumane and Safa communications director Morio Sanyane.
Safa chief executive Raymond Hack was quick to point out that there was nothing untoward about today's gathering.
The meeting comes in the wake of calls from some of the former Bafana Bafana players and coaches for Safa to fire Santana.
"We want them to give us a report on the two recent games against Ireland and Germany. We always have reports from them after the matches," Hack said.
Before the two away losses to Germany and the Republic of Ireland, Bafana were beaten by Brazil, Spain and Serbia at home.
Santana is under intense pressure to live up to his promise of turning Bafana Bafana into world beaters with the 2010 World Cup only 267 days away.
What angers many South Africans is that Santana is always happy with the team's performance, irrespective of the outcome.
South Africans are also gatvol with Santana's habit of being available for media interviews without a translator after winning. He prefers using a translator when the team loses.
Santana has been building the squad since he was appointed by Safa in June last year to replace compatriot Carlos Alberto Parreira. Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi and Gordon Igesund of Maritzburg United have blasted him for overlooking local coaches.
