THE Mangaung Cultural Festival is back to thrill music, art and soccer lovers.
Popularly known as Macufe, the festival offers great jazz, gospel, kwaito, hip-hop, dance, drama, theatre, poetry, soccer, crafts and fine arts from October 2 to 10.
With so many events for all age groups there will be lots to choose from the cream of African and international talent.
As usual music lovers will be able to enjoy events such as the Absa Macufe Youth Festival, Divas Concert, Great Indoor Jazz Concert, Gospel Festival, Macufe Blacks Only Comedy, craft market and good soccer.
Popular international musicians O'Jays will perform at the Absa Macufe Main Festival on October 10.
The lineup also features American hip-hop star T-Pain, HHP, Kwela Tebza, Ringo Madlingozi, Jimmy Dludlu, Khaya, Thembi Seete, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu, Busi Mhlongo, Ntando, Theo Kgosinkwe, Trio Plus, Hope, Mara, Primrose and Thoko Nogabe .
Organiser Danny Moleke says the festival promises an exciting programme, from fashion to music.
He says Macufe has in the past 12 years grown into one of the biggest and best events on the annual entertainment calender.
"Undoubtedly, the Mangaung African Cultural Festival has grown in stature in recent years, despite all the challenges we have encountered in the past," Moleke says.
After a huge flop in 2007, music lovers were treated to the best music and entertainment again last year.
I am willing to bet my last cent that those fans who were there last year will be back for more of the same next month.
