Communities around Ward 2 are faced with a water crisis but the municipality is upgrading roads and putting in street lamps.
The party made a submission to the office of mayor Othaniel Mushwana on Friday in which they demanded that the installation ofe street lights in Mokgwathi and the building of the access road at Masefora be stopped and the money budgeted for it be transferred to the prioritised needs of the communities.
The party had accused the municipality of failing to consult the community before it implemented the project.
Branch chairperson Israel Mohatli has urged the municipality to withdraw its intention to appoint service providers for the road upgrading and street light projects.
Mohatli advised the municipality not to ignore the community's demand since it might lead to constructive resistance that might make the ward ungovernable.
He also explained that legislation governing local government required the Greater Tzaneen municipality to ensure community participation through consultative meetings in the execution of its developmental role.
