Amajita at full strength

AMAJITA coach Serame "Rhee" Letsoaka reckons the availability of all the players he wanted is a great deve-lopment in their quest to do well at the World Youth Championship in Egypt.

AMAJITA coach Serame "Rhee" Letsoaka reckons the availability of all the players he wanted is a great deve-lopment in their quest to do well at the World Youth Championship in Egypt.

The tournament kicks off on September 24, but Amajita begin their campaign against United Arab Emirates three days later. From the squad named by Letsoaka yesterday, three were not part of the Under-20 national side humiliated 6-1 by Germany in a friendly two weeks ago.

The three are No 1 goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni of Kaizer Chiefs, Jomo Cosmos defender Gladwin Shitolo and forward George Maluleka of Ajax Cape Town.

"We are quite happy everybody will be here with us by Thursday, we are confident of going beyond the group stages," said Letsoaka in Kempton Park yesterday.

During their training camp in Bloemfontein, Letsoaka and his technical staff will have to tighten up their defence, which has been leaking.

In addition, Amajita will have to show more aggression when it comes to launching counter-attacks. The team has been a bit slow in this regard.

"We will be doing the final touches on the entire team during the camp, scoring goals is not a problem for us," said Letsoaka.

On their 6-1 loss to Germany, he said: "We were forced to make eight changes after learning that the coach of Hungary was watching the match."

In Egypt, Amajita will play United Arab Emirates, Honduras and Hungary.

The Egypt-bound squad is:

Goalkeepers - Thela Ngobeni (Kaizer Chiefs), Darren Keet (Bidvest Wits), Taufeeq Sallie (Ajax);

Defenders - Sibusiso Mxoyana (Orlando Pirates), Sibusiso Khumalo, Ramahlwe Mphahlele,Phumelele Bhengu (Moroka Swallows), Thulani Hlatshwayo (Ajax), Gladwin Shitolo (Jomo Cosmos), Collen Zulu (SuperSport United);

Midfielders - Daylon Claasen (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands), Sameehg Doutie, Thulani Serero (Ajax Cape Town), Mandla Masango (Chiefs), Kamohelo Mokotjo, Philane Khwela (Feyenoord, Netherlands), Andile Jali ( Pirates).

Forwards - Kermit Erasmus (Feyenoord), Thulani Ngcephe (SuperSport), George Maluleka (Ajax) and Dino Ndlovu (Platinum Stars)
