KWAZULU-NATAL police are investigating the killing of a 56-year-old taxi boss who was gunned down at his home in Montclair on Wednesday.

Police believe that the killing of Bhekokwakhe Shezi, whose taxis operate in the Durban south route, could be related to taxi violence.

Shezi was entering his home at about 7.30pm when gunmen attacked him at the gate.

Police spokesperson Phindile Radebe yesterday confirmed that the killing might be linked to taxi violence among taxi associations.

"We found empty cartridges of either a AK-47 or R5 rifle outside Shezi's home where he was killed ," Radebe said.
