HUGH Hefner has filed for divorce - 11 years after splitting from his wife.

The Playboy mogul - who parted ways with second wife Kimberley Conrad in 1998 after nine years of marriage - cited irreconcilable differences in papers filed in Los Angeles in the US.

Hugh, pictured, who has two sons with Kimberley, said: "I would've been happy to divorce her when we separated, but she wanted to remain married for our boys."

Kimberley's lawyer said: "Mr Hefner's divorce filing speaks for itself, and we'll respond in due course."

Hugh has reportedly claimed their relationship failed because the former Playboy Playmate cheated on him.

The 83-year-old star - who has several live-in girlfriends at the Playboy mansion - finally decided to end his marriage because Kimberley filed a R38million lawsuit against him last month, which was linked to the sale of one of their houses. - Bang
