Chiefs feel rejuvenated

VICTORY over AmaZulu has boosted Kaizer Chiefs' confidence, and they have vowed to continue to deliver.

Chiefs assistant coach Donald "Ace" Khuse was quietly confident going into Saturday's clash against Maritzburg United at Orlando Stadium, despite the likelihood of playing without talisman Abia Nale and defender Valery Nahayo.

"The win against AmaZulu helped the guys regain their confidence and hopefully we'll carry on where we left off. We have been playing well and creating chances, but we couldn't convert them, which cost us valuable points," Khuse said.

The former Chiefs midfielder said the intense pre-season programme had taken its toll on his players, who were only now showing signs of recovery.

Club captain Jimmy Tau also felt that the win over AmaZulu could be a turning point in their Premiership campaign.

"It was certainly a morale booster. We know that every game we play from now on is going to be very difficult, but that augurs well for the league, the fans and even the sponsors," Tau said.
