This was one of the resolutions taken at the LOC board meeting in Sandton yesterday, the first meeting since the country hosted the Confederations Cup.
LOC chief executive Danny Jordaan told a media briefing that the board felt there was a need to get Pahad back as a member.
Pahad was one of the three cabinet ministers who resigned from government after former president Thabo Mbeki was "recalled" by the ruling African National Congress.
