Rosslee rocks up at Bucs

CRAIG Rosslee wasted no time by going straight to training, hardly an hour after signing on the dotted line with Orlando Pirates as their new assistant coach.

CRAIG Rosslee wasted no time by going straight to training, hardly an hour after signing on the dotted line with Orlando Pirates as their new assistant coach.

"I'm driving with coach Ruud Krol to training. It's so good to join Pirates and work under the leadership of coach Ruud," Rosslee told Sowetan in Johannesburg yesterday.

The former Ajax Cape Town coach was offered a two-year contract by Irvin Khoza, Pirates' chairperson.

"I was not expecting it but working for a big club of Pirates' calibre is a great honour for me. I will learn a lot from coach Ruud," he said.

Krol welcomed Rosslee, who did tremendously well during his two-year stint with Ajax.

"It's good to have him, I have been asking for an assistant coach for some time now and I'm happy we will be working together," Krol said.

Khoza said: "We were looking for compatibility and I think we succeeded in doing that by appointing Craig. He had done well. After coming from Ajax development, he led Ajax to second place on the log in his first season and went on to win the Telkom Knockout glory the following season."

"He fits in very well in the Dutch coaching philosophy. The other plus is that he speaks the Dutch language."
