HOME Affairs, the gripping drama that legions of viewers have been waiting impatiently since its third successful run, is back.

Home Affairs started last Thursday on SABC1. The Penguin Films production continues to focus on women's stories .

Previously, viewers were introduced to a number of South African women who led different lives and yet were linked by the force of synchronicity. Their journeys (and two new female character's journeys) continue as new twists and turns bring joy, tragedy, fear and hope to their lives in this rich, emotional drama, that will unfold over 13 weeks.

In the last series, Katlego (Lerato Moloisane) and her friend Katherine (Jessica Haines) experienced the terrifying ordeal of being hi- jacked and abused. Like thousands of women in this country who have gone through this nightmare, Katlego and Katherine are totally traumatised and their sense of peace and security is completely shattered.

In this series, one of the hijackers, Themba, (Ronnie Maphutha) seeks their forgiveness and reaches out to Katlego. But, are his intentions genuine and can Katherine be as forgiving as Katlego?

Also, Thandeka (Baby Cele) has to deal with the embezzlement of Young Blood's funds. Lesedi (Makgano Mamabolo) is implicated. Thandeka struggles to keep Young Blood going and she is threatened when she tries to find the criminals .

Thandeka and Katlego are faced with a dilemma, which once again challenges their relationship when Nkosinathi (Anele Matoti), a fellow actor, comes into their lives.

There is no doubt that viewers are in for a treat. The standard of the acting is high and there are a lot of sub-plots. Viewers will again relate with the story line because it reflects our current society.
