MORE than 100 people were arrested at the weekend in Ennerdale, southern Johannesburg, for crimes ranging from assault to crossing railway lines.

MORE than 100 people were arrested at the weekend in Ennerdale, southern Johannesburg, for crimes ranging from assault to crossing railway lines.

The arrests were made between Friday night and Sunday, said Gauteng police Constable Edwin Ntsheo.

The 105 suspects were arrested for crimes including malicious damage to property, theft, possession of stolen cellphones, shoplifting, housebreaking, pointing of a firearm, common assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common robbery, armed robbery, illegal gambling and drinking in public.

Those arrested will appear in the Vereeniging magistrate's court today. - Sapa
