Deals to fight recession

NOT long ago reports and statistics showed that the current financial slump is wreaking havoc with the South African economy.

NOT long ago reports and statistics showed that the current financial slump is wreaking havoc with the South African economy.

Parallel to this uninspiring news is that the situation is headed for an upward trend (after bottoming out as they say).

This is not a time to lose courage. As I have mentioned a hundred-odd times, the need for mobility is a continuing thing.

It has become part of human nature to be mobile and maybe if the likes of Misters Daimler and Ford chose to go fishing instead of working at mobile solutions the economic slump would totally paralyse the motor industry.

Local car manufacturers and agents of overseas brands have been churning out new cars despite the money freeze.

Ssangyong SA informs us that it has put a special deal on its Ssangyong Stavic MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle), a vehicle that occupies what should be an enviable position. It's huge (it has room for 7 grown adults), a fuel efficient diesel engine and costs R299000 - at least R200000 cheaper than its rivals.

The company says anyone who purchases a Stavic at any Ssangyong dealer nationwide, for this month only, will get an In-Car-DVD system free.

That sounds good but if large family cars are not on your shopping list and instead you require a little run-about, take advantage of the special being run by VW Constantia on the West Rand.

They have a very attractive offer on a 2008 model VW Citi Sports, which is going for as low as R75000.
