One of the most exciting aspects of the event centres on the guest artists and how they reinvent themselves at the yearly festival.
Festival leaders Ludumo Magangane and Mokale Koapeng are responsible for the featured guest acts.
Adding to the resultant lustre is the mass chorus provided by participating choirs. The audience increases the vibe as they sing along.
Nciza, who is better known as the other half of the award-winning and chart-topping kwaito outfit Mafikizolo, joins a colourful list of the festival's former guest acts.
They include gospel music great Rebecca Malope, Afro soul singers Tsepo Tshola, Ringo Madlingozi and hip-hop exponent Tumelo "Tuks Senganga" Kepadisa.
It will be an honour to host Nciza in this popular Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation showcase.
The festival falls under the Transnet Foundation's impressive list of corporate social investment and responsibility projects.
It includes the peerless Phelophepa, a community-based primary healthcare service on wheels that touches poor communities living near major railway routes.
Nciza will share the stage with 10 championship-winning calibre choirs to make this year's showcase a fitting Festival of Champions.
The champions are the Matthews Singers, Belcanto Voices, Gauteng Choristers, South African Police Service Choir, Sounds of the Nation and the Transnet Choir.
Other competent entertainers are the Vaal Choristers, African Sweet Melodies, Mogale City Chorale and East Rand Chorale.
We will also be showcasing young soloists soprano Andiswa Makana, mezzo soprano Tina Mene and Ebenezer Sawuli.
In keeping with the project's established tradition, African music icon, Mosoeu Michael Moerane, will be honoured with the mass choir rendition of his timeless and beautiful piece, Ruri.
