A LUCKY hat and an own raffle led to a R5million jackpot for a North West woman, while one from KwaZulu-Natal is about to lose hers.

The August 15 winner says she threw numbers into her favourite hat, blew on them and then wrote them down as they flew out.

"I cut up pieces of paper and numbered them from one to 49. I then put the numbers into my favourite hat.

"I started blowing as hard as I could and as the numbers kept flying out my hat. I wrote them down until I had enough to play for R20.

"I checked my numbers on the Internet at home the following day and I burst into tears after realising that I was the only winner of more than R5million," said the winner.

The young wife and mother is now weighing her chances of going into business.

She said she would also plough back some of her fortune into the community.

But Gidani says another winner with a ticket worth R103589 from KwaZulu-Natal is about to lose a lot of money.

"It is a pity that someone from KwaZulu-Natal is about to lose out if they do not claim their fortune worth R103589 that expires at midnight on Monday August 31 2009," said spokesperson Thembi Tulwana.

The numbers drawn were: 2; 14; 26; 29; 33; 34; and the bonus ball was 13.
