FOUR lucky young tennis enthusiasts are flying out to New York tomorrow.

The youngsters, Jacobus Hermanus Pieters from Pretoria, Madrie le Roux from Eastern Cape, Jody Alan Claassen from Cape Town and Christine Masite from Alexandra will get to meet tennis legend Billy Jean King and watch the US Open from her private box.

Peermont Group corporate affairs executive Vusi Zwane, who will be accompanying the children, said: "They are over the moon.

"They'll have an opportunity to meet the likes of Roger Federer, Serena and Venus Williams and others. We wanted to show them that there is another world out there, and hopefully one of them will get a sponsor."

Zwane said the idea came after King's visit to South Africa last year.

King said that if they wanted to develop the sport in the country she would be supportive.

"The idea came about during Billy's visit here last year. We then decided that we would send children who showed the most promise to the US Open this year," Zwane said.

"A girl like (Christine) Masite has so much potential."
