Superintendent Mtati Tana said four men, one of them armed, tried to enter a house in Bushview Road where the Mdantsane-East London Taxi Association was having a meeting, but were pushed out.
The four men then fired shots through the window, injuring a 46-year-old man .
The injured man drove himself to hospital.
