Awards for the best early childhood practitioners

SOUTH Africans are invited to vote for the best early childhood development practitioners through the Absa and Sowetan ECD Awards, with the champions due to be honoured in Gauteng in December.

SOUTH Africans are invited to vote for the best early childhood development practitioners through the Absa and Sowetan ECD Awards, with the champions due to be honoured in Gauteng in December.

These awards are run in partnership with SABC Education, the national Education Department, Department of Social Development, South African Congress for Early Childhood Development and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.

The partnership enhances professionalism of caregivers, teachers and managers of ECD centres, crèches and kindergartens and the institution's infrastructure and academic development.

The awards are given for the best ECD practitioner, homebased care centre; community-based care centre and best resource and training organisation.

A new additional award is to be given for illustrious innovation in ECD practices and, or programmes. Entries can be posted to SABC Education Outreach, Private Bag X 345, Mellville 2109.
