Exhibition on inspiring women

AN EXHIBITION portraying some of KwaZulu-Natal's most extraordinary women is on at the KZO Exhibition Centre at the Gateway shopping centre in Durban.

The exhibition features the work of photographer Pippa Hetherington and tells the story of the 24 women featured in the book Burning Bright - Extraordinary women of KwaZulu-Natal by former journalist Wilna Botha.

The women include former deputy health minister Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge, who stood up for what is best for ordinary people.

Former Miss South Africa Peggy Sue Khumalo, who now works for Investec, is another woman featured in the book.

Other women featured in the book include Anna Cele, a domestic worker and single mother, and Aurelia Mhlongo, who owns a successful nursery and was selected as the South African Woman of the Year in 2000.
