THE trial of four former University of the Free State students who made a video that threw the university into a racial storm last year was postponed to October 26.

The legal representative for the four accused told the Bloemfontein regional court yesterday the defence would also make representations to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The former residents of the now-closed Reitz men's residence on the Bloemfontein campus, face charges of crimen injuria. They have not pleaded yet.

The trial, set down for two days, could also not continue because the state prosecutor in the case was sick.

Chief magistrate Mziwonke Hinxa slammed the defence and state for not being ready. - Sapa
