This is after Luthuli House received complaints about three regional conferences that were held at the weekend.
Eastern Cape acting provincial secretary Pemmy Majodina said three regional conferences - Amathole, OR Tambo and Joe Qgabi - were held at the weekend.
Majodina said Modise would meet delegates from the various regions, particularly the Amathole region, who had complained.
"I can't quantify those complaints right now," she said. "You will have to wait for the report-back,"
Modise would report to the party's national working committee after gathering information in the province.
Majodina, who presided over the Amathole conference, said the problem stemmed from a group of disgruntled delegates who failed to register.
The Daily Dispatch Online yesterday reported that the delegates wrote to ANC general secretary Gwede Mantashe, calling for the conference to be declared null and void and the provincial executive committee to be disbanded.
The letter said if Mantashe failed to deal with complaints adequately it could "result in political instability in the region", according to the report.
The delegates alleged that Majodina excluded many legitimate delegates from the conference and gave accreditation to "non-deserving" ANC members. The allegations in the letter detail factionalism.
