FORMER Orlando Pirates star Mandla "Metroblitz" Sithole will stand trial for murder in the Roodepoort magistrate's court in two months' time.

Sithole, 46, is expected to plead on October 14 when his trial starts.

He allegedly stabbed Thulani Ndlovu, 27, in Dobsonville, Soweto, in May.

Sithole appeared briefly in the same court yesterday. Throughout the proceedings he kept his eyes fixed on the ground, occasionally lifting his head to look at his hands.

He is out on R5000 bail and is expected to report to the Brackenhurst police station in Alberton, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesdays between 9am and 5pm.

The police said Sithole had gone to Ndlovu to demand R100 owed to him. When Ndlovu told him he did not have any money Sithole allegedly took out a knife and stabbed him.

Sithole later turned himself in to the police.
