The State withdrew charges against Nkosinathi Dlamini, Delisile Reginah Ngwane, Linda Nala and Zoleka Sigcau yesterday.
Remaining in the dock are eThekwini municipality councillor Vusi Khoza, Sean Thabo Jacobs, Patricia Ballantyne and Mzokuthoba Mngonyama.
They are expected to plead not guilty on all charges.
Foreigners jumped from a building in Albert Park while trying to flee a crowd of more than 100 people wielding bush knives in January this year.
Zimbabwean Victor Zowa, 24, and Tanzanian Omar Said, 25, fell to their deaths.
A 23-year-old Mozambican who was forced to jump from a window survived.
The matter was heard briefly in the Durban magistrate's court before it was transferred to the regional court.
The regional court wanted to postpone the case, arguing it needed time to look at the matter. But Sipho Mkhize, the lawyer representing all the accused, told the court his clients were being inconvenienced by "unreasonable postponements". - Sapa
