NOOR Rhode, coach of the national women's cricket team, is satisfied with the improvement shown by the players in a camp at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria at the weekend.

Rhode said the squad was preparing for the home series against the West Indies set for Cape Town in October. The series will consist of four One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 matches.

It was the first camp for the South Africans since their disappointing showing at the ICC Women's World Cup in March and ICC Women's World Twenty20 in June.

"For the past two days we worked on the importance of fitness as well as mental strength and the players responded positively," said Rhode.
