Richard Henyekane was Abafana Besthende's hero when he scored two goals during the first leg of the MTN8 semifinal against neighbours AmaZulu at Chatsworth Stadium yesterday.

As expected, Golden Arrows came out firing on all cylinders, and should have scored as early as the eighth minute.

Ten minutes later, Philani Shange came close to scoring when he connected well with a pass from Koffi Tanoh but his lame shot was easily saved by AmaZulu goalie Kalililo Kakonje

On the 20th minute Kapamba Chintu was penalised for a handball just on the 18-yard area, but Henyekane's shot bounced off the wall.

Twelve minutes later, Pere Ariwerayai nearly scored an own goal when his back-pass caught Kakonje off guard, but an alert goal minder was quick to save the ball before it crossed the goal line.

The half-time score was 0-0.

The second half was a one-way traffic as Arrows pilled on the pressure and were finally rewarded when Henyekane found himself with acres of space inside the box and slotted home an easy goal on the 60th minute.

AmaZulu coach Neil Tovey brought on Dumisani Ngwenya for Japhet Zwane and Myron Shongwe for Bradley Ritson, but this made no difference - Henyekane increased his tally to two with a long range shot from 25 yard on the 68th minute.

AmaZulu pulled one back via the boot of Litha Ngxabi during referee's added-on time, but it was a little too late for a home team.
