AFTER five years on Muvhango Florence Masebe has moved on and landed a big role in 7de Laan.

She will appear in the Tshivenda drama series as Humbulani until October 5.

The multi-talented actress, who is fluent in Afrikaans, will be introduced to the Afrikaans soapie on August 21 as Refiloe Morapedi, Alice's mother.

"The last time I was part of the Muvhango cast was in March. I went back in May to shoot a few scenes and left for good," Masebe recalls.

She says she left the soapie because she wanted a change.

"I was tired of playing the same character. Leaving Muvhango was a difficult decision but I wanted a new challenge."

Masebe says she is very enthusiastic about her new and challenging role as Refiloe.

"Refiloe is a coconut. She only speaks English. Her daughter will get married soon to Mandla (Freedom Radebe)," Masebe says. "For now I am enjoying the character because I play an older person. But I miss playing that crazy woman Humbulani."

Masebe says she is also busy with a children's show on M-Net and is also doing storytelling and hosting in a children's game show. Masebe has in the past done such shows as Herself It's For Life.
